This page sets out practical ways to keep gambling under control, and states plainly what this site can and cannot do about it. It applies to every page on this build, including the operator listings.
Before You Start
A few simple habits make gambling easier to keep as entertainment rather than a problem, and each one has a straightforward reason behind it.
- Decide the amount before you begin. Setting a figure while you are calm is more reliable than judging it in the moment, when the game itself is designed to hold your attention.
- Treat that amount as already spent. If you think of it as gone the moment you commit it, a loss is just the expected outcome, and a win is a genuine bonus rather than something you were owed.
- Never chase a loss. Trying to win back money already lost usually means increasing the stake or the speed of play, which raises the risk instead of solving anything.
- Keep gambling out of borrowed money. Money that has another purpose, or that belongs to someone else, turns a leisure cost into a debt problem the moment it is lost.
- Take breaks. Stepping away for a few minutes, or for the day, interrupts the momentum that keeps a session going longer than intended.
- Involve someone else early. A friend, family member, or one of the organisations linked below can see the pattern more clearly than the person inside it, and reaching out becomes harder the longer it is left.
Independent Help
Every page of this site, including this one, carries links to three independent gambling-help organisations: begambleaware.org, gamblingtherapy.org and gamcare.org.uk. These are the only links on the site that are not commercial. Unlike the operator links, they carry no sponsored marking, they are set to nofollow, and they open in a separate tab on the organisations' own websites. This site receives nothing when a reader follows them. Nothing beyond being an independent source of help is claimed about any of them here.
Age Restriction and Operator Terms
The eighteen-and-over restriction is repeated throughout this build, including on the front page and at the end of every operator listing. Each of the ten operator listings ends with the same line: check availability and the current terms at the destination before claiming anything, because eligibility rules and terms apply there and can change without notice. Everything a reader can actually do with money happens after leaving this site — each operator link redirects to a third party, and from that point the destination's own rules, checks and account controls apply, not anything published here.
What This Site Cannot Do
Controls such as deposit caps, loss caps, reality checks, cooling-off periods or self-exclusion belong to an account held with an operator. This build has no account, no form and no server-side application, so nothing published here can switch one of those controls on, check its status, or enforce it. A reader who wants any of them has to arrange it inside an account at the destination itself.
Nobody's age is verified on this site, and no gambling takes place on it; any check of that kind happens at the destination, not here. No advertising or behavioural profiling network is present in these pages, so nothing on this site is targeted at a reader based on risky behaviour they may have shown elsewhere. If gambling stops being entertainment, the people equipped to help are the ones listed above, or someone close to you — not this page.
